Lindfield is one of the oldest clubs in the county having been established in 1747 and is part of a long and proud history of cricket in Sussex


We are a Sussex Cricket Board FOCUS club

We have attained ECB CLUBMARK status 

We are a Community Amateur Sports Club

We have a thriving senior playing membership with over 80 senior playing members

We field 4 league sides on a Saturday and 2 friendly sides on a Sunday

We have an ever expanding Academy (over 200 members, both boys and girls) with an excellent reputation in the area

Over 30 Academy members played adult cricket in 2011

The 1st and 2nd XI’s played in the Sussex Invitation League from its inception in 1979

The 1st XI were champions in 1982 and 1994 while the 2nd XI won their competition in 2002

In 2008 the 1st and 2nd XI’s joined Division 3 (East) of the Sussex County League

The 2nd XI won their division in 2010 

The 3rd XI, the Swans, joined the Stoner Mid-Sussex Cricket League in 2002 and gained promotion from Division 3 in 2007 after finishing 2nd

In 2008 we formed a 4th XI, the Cygnets, who joined the Stoner Mid-Sussex League Conference and then in 2009 replaced the Swans in Division 3

After a league restructure at the start of 2011, the 3rd XI now play in Division 3 and the 4th XI in Division 4 of a five division league

We seek to expose our junior players to the demands of league cricket

We aim to encourage juniors of all abilities to enjoy and appreciate the game

We encourage all members to participate fully in the activities of the club

Our Cricket Aims

To be one of the top performing senior clubs in the county

Our Academy to be recognised as setting the standard for youth development 

For all XI’s to maximise their performance levels

To ensure the continued success of the club through successful integration of Academy players into senior cricket

Senior Cricket

We cater for all levels of ability with 4 XI’s on a Saturday and 2 XI’s on a Sunday

Our Twenty20 team plays in the Henfield T20 Cup, winning it in 2006, 2008 and 2010, as well as the Sussex Cricket League T20 Cup

A team plays in the Olympos Indoor Cricket League during the winter

Senior practice every Thursday night on the Common throughout the season

Senior winter nets at Ardingly College from February through to the end of April

We host a Cricket Week, including a bi-annual fixture against the MCC, during the first week of August and a Lindfield Sixes Charity Tournament on the August Bank Holiday Monday

Academy Cricket

We have a membership in excess of 200 boys and girls from Under 6 to Under 16

We have age group sides at Under 9 through to Under 16 playing in the North & Mid-Sussex Junior Cricket League and Identilam League as well as in all age groups of the Sussex Junior Cricket Festival 
We have an Academy Director with responsibility for all aspects of junior cricket

We have 21 club members who are ECB qualified coaches

Academy winter nets at Ardingly College on Sunday afternoons

Academy Performance Squad winter nets at the County Ground, Hove

Academy training takes place on Thursday and Friday evenings and Saturday and Sunday mornings for various age groups

We are closely integrated with the Sussex representative structure

Our Set-Up

Home is Lindfield Common – all 1st and 2nd XI games are played here

3rd and 4th XI home games are played at Hickmans Lane and Great Walstead School

New net facilities are in place on The Common

We have planning permission to extend our pavilion

The Social Side

It’s not just the cricket!

Club has a licensed bar which is open after all home games

The Social Committee ensures regular activities throughout the season including Barbeques, Curry, Darts, Poker, Karaoke and Cocktail Nights 

‘First Friday of the Month’ throughout the close season

Club Dinner and Presentation Evening in February

LCC ‘Big Day Out’ (golf at Lindfield GC and a Sussex CCC T20 match at Hove) in June
